日本を元気にしたい、パワフルなNYの元気を届けたい、というテーマのもとに、NYを中心とした各界で活躍する人物16名をレスリー・キー自身がセレクト。それぞれの2011年12月のとある1日を切り取り、魅力とパワーあふれる肖像を撮り下ろし。約70点の写真作品及び撮影時のメイキング画像やレスリーインタビュー映像を網羅するレスリー・キー初めての展覧会を渋谷西武で開催します。

Leslie Kee Photo Exhibition at Seibu Shibuya
「POWER PEOPLE by LESLIE KEE」

February 16th (Thu)~ 27th (Mon), 2012

Hoping to cheer up Japan and wishing to deliver powerful New York spirit as
the theme of the exhibition, Leslie selected 15 people who are playing
active part in each field centered in New York. One day in December 2011 was
picked up for each person to shoot his or her glamorous and powerful
portrait of the day. This is the Leslie’s first exhibition held at Seibu
Shibuya, which covers about 70 photos, the making photos of shooting, and
Leslie’s interview picture images.

文化庁メディア芸術祭アート部門を中心に、日本人大賞受賞者等にフォーカスし、アートとテクノロジーがダイナミックに融合した新しい表現による展覧会を、2つのテーマで展開します。
メディア芸術祭は1997年にはじまり、今年15周年を迎えていますが、世界中のメディアアーティスト達から作品が集まるアート部門は特に激戦を極め、日本人の大賞受賞者は限られています。今回、２つのテーマによる展覧会を通じて、 日本人らしいテクノロジーの使い方と、新しい感性によって作り出された表現の数々をご紹介します。日本が誇る高い機能性を文化的な価値に転換し、新しいスタイルとして世界に提案していく日本の将来像が垣間みられるかもしれません。

To commemorate the15th anniversary of Japan Media Art Plaza (by Agency for
Cultural Affairs), a special exhibition of works includes Japanese grand
prize winners is held.
★Bright opening will be held on Friday, February 10th,2012 19:00~21:00

Focused on Japanese grand prix winners along with the Art division of Japan
Media Art Plaza as a core part, the new exhibition that art and technology
are harmonized will be exhibited with two themes.
Japan Media Art Plaza has started in 1997 and it’s been 15 years now, its
contest is the height of hard-fought especially in the art division where
many works applied from all over the world, and eventually Japanese grand
prix winners are limited.
Through this exhibition with the two themes this time, we introduce Japanese
way of using technology and new expressions created by new sensitivity.
Japan’s future image that convert Japan proud high function into cultural
value and make it a new style to propose it to the world might be seen and
caught there.
